An important aspect of projects is the capacity building of counterparts to ensure sustainability of systems set up during the lifetime of the project. Andreas de Jong believes in motivating counterparts through 'on-the-job' training. He has also run formal training courses in water resources management, ArcView GIS and geophysics applied to groundwater exploration.
Although all projects come to an end, the contact with counterparts and exchange of information and knowledge goes on. One of the purposes of this website is to facilitate this process.
